In April of last year, a fatal car accident on Laguna Canyon Road claimed the lives of two Southern California men. The incident involved a Tesla that had veered into oncoming traffic and collided with the men’s vehicle as they were traveling to Laguna Beach during the course of their work for a landscaping company.
In an effort to help the family of one of the victims secure the justice and financial compensation they rightfully deserve, Martinian & Associates is filing a wrongful death claim on their behalf. In October, Tigran Martinian and our firm’s legal team filed a wrongful death suit against the California Department of Transportation, Orange County, Laguna Beach County Water District, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, and Irvine.
The claims allege that the agencies and municipalities are at fault for their failures to adequately maintain landscaping near a traffic sign that signaled approaching merging lanes. Martinian & Associates is seeking $50 million in damages on behalf of the family, which will cover their emotional injuries, loss of financial support, loss of companionship, and other losses.
Cities and municipalities were named as a precaution in order to determine who held responsibility for maintaining the roadway landscaping. Investigations into the case are still ongoing, and Martinian & Associates plans to fight aggressively on behalf of the victim’s family in order to ensure that the at-fault party is held accountable for their actions.
